Phones and jewellery stolen as intruders threaten 15-year-old, e-fit issued: Chadderton

Police have released the image of a man wanted in connection with a robbery in Oldham.

At around 4.10pm on Tuesday 22 November 2011, two men broke into the back of a house on Claremont Street, Chadderton and walked inside, searching rooms for valuables.

A 15-year-old boy, who lived at the house, heard the noise downstairs and disturbed the men.

He went to challenge one of the men but was threatened and told to sit on the sofa.

One man kept guard while the other continued to search the house.

They took mobile phones and jewellery before leaving.

No one was hurt.

The first offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged in his 20s
  • 5ft 10in tall
  • stocky build
  • no hair
  • clean shaven
  • wearing a black leather jacket with no collar, light blue jeans and black gloves
  • spoke with a high pitch local accent

The second offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged late teens
  • 5ft 6in tall
  • skinny build
  • short brown hair
  • freckles on his face
  • dark brown eyes
  • wearing a black jacket and black gloves

Now police have issued an e-fit of the man in his late teens.

Police Constable Craig Rice from the Volume Crime Team said:

"We believe the pair thought no one was in the house at the time and were surprised when they were confronted by the victim.

"Despite being threatened, the victim kept a cool and clear head and took note of what the men looked like.

"With his help, we have been able to create an e-fit and I would urge anyone who may recognise this person to contact police as soon as possible."
