Police investigate armed robbery at newsagents: Mill Street, Walsall

PoliceĀ are investigating an armed robbery which took place at a Walsall newsagents.

The incident occured at Ryecroft News in Mill Street, Walsall at around 5.30pm Saturday 19 December.

Three men, all wearing balaclavas and armed with a crowbar and a handgun, entered the store and threatened a 40 year old male customer before stealing cash and a large quantity of cigarettes.

The three offenders then ran out and escaped in a car driven by a fourth man.

The car is described as being a dark coloured vehicle, possibly a Vauxhall Vectra.

No-one was injured during the robbery.

DS Rob Bastin from Walsall CID said:

"his was a frightening incident and we are appealing for anyone who saw the robbery or anyone who has information about the incident to contact the police.

"We also want to hear from anyone who saw the dark coloured car leave the scene to contact the Robbery Team at Walsall on 0845 113 5000."
