Police issue CCTV image following robbery at convenience store: Portsmouth

Police have issued a CCTV image following a robbery at One Stop in Chichester Road, Portsmouth at around 7.45pm on Tuesday, January 31.

A man entered the store and stood by the main door, he was holding what appeared to be a large knife and demanded money from staff.

A quantity of cash was handed over.

The offender is described as:

• a white male
• aged early to mid 20s
• slim or slight build
• 5ft 10ins to 6ft 1ins tall
• wearing a dark grey tracksuit with pale blue stripes on the legs and arms with white trainers, the top had a hood which had a zip down the front, the hood was up and a dark balaclava or scarf was covering his face
• spoke with a local accent

Det Con Steve Bourne said:

This was a serious incident which has left staff shaken.

"There were a number of witnesses in the store while the incident took place.

"We are appealing to any other witnesses who may have seen the offender before or after the incident to come forward.

"We believe the man ran away from the store following the incident down Farlington Road."
