Police seek witnesses to burning bush incidents: Higham Ferrers/Raunds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of incidents where garden bushes have been set alight.

Three incidents have taken place in Higham Ferrers since the beginning of June and one in Raunds.

The first incident happened overnight sometime between 10pm on Saturday 5 June and 8.30am on Sunday 6 June, when offenders set fire to a bush in the front garden of a property in Wykeham Road, Higham Ferrers.

The second took place sometime between 9.30pm on Saturday 17 July and 6.30am on Sunday 18 July, and saw a bush in the front garden of a property in Stanwick Road, Higham Ferrers set alight.

The third incident took place in Warwick Close, Raunds, between 6.15pm and 6.45pm on Tuesday 20 July, when a bush was set alight, damaging a fence panel.

The fourth incident also took place at a separate property in Stanwick Road, Higham Ferrers, when a bush was set alight sometime between 11pm and 11.30pm on Thursday 22 July.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have any information about these incidents or who may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in these areas at the time of the incidents.
