Police are advising sports players to make sure their changing rooms are kept secure following two recent thefts from sports clubs in North Tyneside.
The first happened at Tynemouth Cricket and Hockey Club in Preston Avenue North Shields on Saturday, May 7 between 11.45am and 12.45pm when thieves struck and stole wallets containing cash from three men who were playing cricket.
Later the same day six men playing at Percy Main Football Club at Saint John's Terrace in Percy Main reported that they had also suffered thefts.
These also happened on Saturday between 1.30pm and 3.30pm, items were stolen from the away team's club changing rooms while players were out on the pitch.
Again wallets and cash were taken.
Police are appealing for witnesses anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191.
