Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery, which occurred at a newsagents in Silverdale Road, Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday 20 December.

The incident occurred at around 9.45pm when two members of staff at the newsagents were closing up and one of the women went to collect the sign from outside.

It is reported that as she turned to come back inside, she was grabbed from behind by one man who was followed into the store by another man who went to the back of the store where the other female shop assistant was.

Both women were said to be threatened for the money from the till, while another man appeared to act as a look out.

All three men then left the area with the cash.

The first suspect is described as:

  • an Asian male
  • aged 25 to 35
  • stocky build
  • wearing a black coat, balaclava and dark trousers

The second suspect is described as:

  • an Asian male
  • aged 25 to 35
  • 6ft tall
  • medium build
  • wearing a hat and scarf covering his face, dark shoes, a dark jacket and dark trousers

The third suspect is described as:

  • a white male
  • wearing a blue beaney hat and a black hooded coat with a white motif on the arm

Police are urgently appealing for witnesses to identify and locate the offenders.
