Rescue teams continue to search for missing man: Sligachan, Isle of Skye

Police and mountain rescuers have been searching for a man who was reported missing after failing to return to his base at the Sligachan Hotel, Sligachan, Isle of Skye.

The man, who is believed to be in his 70s, has not been seen since leaving the hotel sometime yesterday afternoon.

It is believed he may have been walking or climbing in the area.

Skye Mountain Rescue Team and Stornoway Coastguard helicopter have been taking part in the search along with SARDA dogs and Northern Constabulary Police dogs.

Further updates will be issued when information becomes available.

The missing man is described as:

  • a white male
  • 5ft 4in tall
  • thin build
  • fair complexion
  • short, dark greying hair
  • wearing dark clothing
