Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery at Swanside General Stores, Huyton, on Saturday, 20 December, 2008.

At about 9.45pm three men, believed to have been armed with handgun, crowbar/wheelbrace, and hammer, entered the store and demanded cash from the two shop assistants.

The offenders smashed a security screen in front of the till and also forced open a security to gain entry to the till area.

They forced the staff to fill a holdall with cash and then left on foot towards East Prescot Road.

Officers have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with their inquiries.

The first offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • in his twenties
  • approx 6ft tall
  • with a slim build

The second offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • in his twenties
  • approximately 5ft 2in tall
  • slim build
  • with a slim face

The third man is described as:

  • white
  • in his twenties
  • and taller than 5ft 2in
