Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after an armed robbery at a bookmakers in the town centre.
The incident, in which a man entered Ladbrokes along Commercial Road, threatened a cashier and demanded money, happened at around 8.20pm last night, Tuesday 31 January 2012.
Money, the quantity of which is not being released, was stolen.
The robber made off along nearby Mannington Place and up into West Hill Car Park.
Detective Constable Steve May, of Bournemouth CID, said:
"I understand that the offender pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at the female member of staff.
"Clearly, this was a highly distressing incident and I'd appeal for anyone who has any information about the man responsible to contact me as soon as possible.
"The area was reasonably busy at the time of this robbery and it may be that a number of people saw this man arriving or departing the scene."
