This incident was reported at 2:14am on Christmas Day. An 18-year-old woman was discovered in a distressed state in the car park of the Nags Head public house.
She stated that she been raped and violently assaulted.
The victim has been interviewed and has since returned home to an address outside the county.
She states that she left the Nags Head hand in hand with the offender and it is believed that the rape took place between 00:45am and 2:00am.
The offender is not known to the victim.
Detective Constable Jackie Crozier of the Operation Emerald Team which investigates serious sexual offences is the investigating officer.
DC Crozier said,
"Can I appeal for witnesses please who saw a young white woman, 18-years-old with long blonde hair, wearing black leggings, a pair of short dungarees, a long sleeved pale coloured top in the vicinity of Southgate, Nags Head car park, Sleaford with a man who sexually assaulted her.
"I would also ask for witnesses who may have heard or seen the sexual assault taking place between approx 0045 and 0200 hours, Sunday 25/12/11, in this vicinity.
"The victim was also physically assaulted by the male who punched her to the face, causing her injuries.
"The victims black ankle boots are missing."
The offender is described as:
- a white male
- 5'6" tall
- slim build
- short hair
- possibly wearing a tee-shirt
