Police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary at the home of an elderly woman at an address near Princes Street in Nuneaton at 9.45am on Thursday 1 December.
An unknown male called at the woman's home and told her that as a result of a water leak at neighbouring property it was necessary for the water in her home to be turned off.
The man entered the house and went into the kitchen, accompanied by the woman.
He asked her to open the cupboards in order to locate the mains tap, but the woman became suspicious and asked him to leave.
She then found a second male had entered her home and had searched her bedroom.
As she went to stop him she was pushed against the wall and the two men left the property. stealing a small safe which contained a quantity of money.
