Thief disables CCTV before taking cash box from vending machine: Wiltshire College campus

Police are appealing for information after a male covered a CCTV camera in a college canteen before removing the cashbox from a vending machine.

The incident happened just before 5:40pm on Wednesday 11th January 2012 in the canteen on the Wiltshire College campus in Salisbury.

A male enters and crosses the canteen before changing the angle of a CCTV camera and covering it with what is believed to be tissue.

A cash box has then been removed from a vending machine close by.

The offender is described as:

  • a white male
  • aged in his twenties
  • slim to medium build
  • wearing a black baseball cap, black hooded coat/jacket which was grey inside, black jeans/trousers and black trainers

A CCTV image of a man that officers would like to speak in connection with the incident is shown above.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident or who recognises the man shown in the CCTV is asked to contact DC Jannette Challes of the Crime Management Unit (CMU) in Melksham on 101.
