Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a pub in Skelmersdale in the early hours of this morning.

At approximately 4:10am this morning, while staff were locking up at The Tanner Pub, three men have entered the pub and threatened the three members of staff with metal bars before demanding money.

Two of the men dragged one member of staff towards the safe demanding money while the third remained with the two other members of staff.

They then left the pub with cash thought to total approximately £3,500.

All three staff members were assaulted during the burglary and were treated at hospital but luckily they only suffered minor injuries but have understandably been left extremely shaken.

The offenders are all described as:

  • white males
  • wearing tracksuits with the hoods up
  • all with strong Liverpool accents

Detective Inspector John Entwisle said:

"The members of staff who were in the pub at the time of the robbery have been left extremely shaken by what's happened, but thankfully nobody was seriously hurt.

"I would appeal to anybody who may have seen the three men or indeed anyone at all acting suspiciously either prior to the robbery or in the area after the robbery to come forward and contact police."

Anyone with information is asked to call Lancashire police on 0845 1 25 35 45.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
