Approximately 12.35am on Saturday 27 June 2009, three men drove to the McDonald's on Pedders Way, Ashton in a silver MG ZR.
They ordered food and parked in the waiting bay before a group of four or five men pulled up in a metallic blue BMW one series car.
The group in the BMW began to shout abuse at the men in the MG.
One then picked up a bin from outside McDonald's and threw it at the rear windscreen of the MG.
The three men got out of the MG and were attacked by the other group.
Two of them were kicked and punched on the floor, before one of the BMW group got into the MG and drove it away.
The remaining offenders drove off in the BMW.
The MG car was later found abandoned on Fishwick View with all the windows smashed and the wing mirrors ripped off.

Detective Inspector Dave McKenna, from Preston CID, said:
"This was a completely unprovoked and sustained attack.
"This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated and I would urge anyone with any information about this incident to contact police."
