Police are appealing for information after the theft of a generator from a museum in Hexham.

Between 2.30pm Sunday, June 13, and 7.30am Monday, June 14, thieves broke into the Vindolanda Trust Roman museum site in Bardon Mill and stole a two tonne Honda generator and over 1000 litres of diesel.

The generator is distinctive in style and is blue and silver in colour and with green and yellow logos on the sides.

Due to the size of it then thieves must have used a trailer to transport it.

Anyone with any information into the theft or the whereabouts of the generator is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
