Elmbridge detectives are appealing for information after an arson attack on an outbuilding in Thames Ditton destroyed valuable sports equipment.
The incident took place at the Old Cranleighan Sports Club off Portsmouth Road at around 10.10pm on Monday, 28 November.
Surrey Police officers attended the scene after receiving reports from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service that an outbuilding used to store sports equipment was on fire.
Surrey firefighters put out the blaze but the outbuilding, which is used to store a variety of hockey and rugby equipment, sustained extensive damage.
Early estimates suggest that the combined cost of replacing the destroyed equipment and repairing the damage to the building could be as much as £10,000.
The fire is being treated as suspicious and Surrey Police officers are conducting a joint investigation with fire investigators to establish the cause of the blaze.
Following the incident Surrey Police officers carried out a thorough search of the surrounding area but at this stage the offender or offenders have yet to be located.
Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) also carried out an extensive forensic examination of the location.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information should call Surrey Police on 101.
