The incident occurred on Wednesday 26 October at a property in Hallwards, Staplehurst.
It is reported that a 78-year-old woman disturbed intruders into her home.
It is said she was assaulted and left with head injuries.
She was taken to hospital and later discharged.
Image released of a crucial witness Officers investigating the incident have released CCTV of a car which was driven to the Total Garage in Cranbrook Road, Staplehurst on the evening of the incident.
A picture of the driver is also being issued.
Officers believe this man to be a crucial witness to the investigation and not involved in the crime.
Detective Constable Adam Denny of Kent Police said:
'We are keen to speak with the man pictured as he may have seen or heard something that could help us further our investigation and trace the suspects.
"I would like anyone who can help with us with our enquiries to contact Kent Police.'
