Police in Portsmouth have issued a CCTV image of a man the would like to speak to after a woman was subjected to racial abuse in London Road, Hilsea between 8.45 and 12.55pm on Tuesday, May 12.
The woman in her 30s was travelling on a bus and got off near The Green Post pub.
A man got off the bus at the same time and followed her, walking closely behind her.
The woman went into a nearby Co-op store hoping the man would stop following her but he waited outside.
She ordered a taxi to pick her up from the shop.
When she went outside to get in the taxi the man leant in close to her face and used racially abusive language.
The suspect is described as:
PC Jon Needham of Fratton police station said:
"This was a very frightening experience for the woman.
"She did not know why she was being followed and made it clear she did not want to be near this man by going into the shop.
"The man continued his threatening behaviour despite other people being around and being aware that he may be filmed on CCTV."
