Police are appealing for information after bathroom appliances worth more than £50,000 were stolen from a showroom in Urmston. Sometime between 5.15pm on Thursday 28 February 2008 and 8.40am on Friday 29 February 2008, offenders climbed onto the roof of AJ Cheetham and Sons on Higher Road and made a four square feet hole using an unknown tool. The offenders then entered through the hole and, once inside, stole a number of expensive bathroom appliances such as cabinets, accessories and vanity units. They also stole a number of items from the company's office, including computers, jewellery and framed pictures from Manchester United's win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League and signed photographs of footballers Peter Schmeichel and Eric Cantona. The offenders then escaped by putting the stolen goods into a van owned by AJ Cheetham and Sons which is emblazoned with the company's logo on the side.
