Police believe that £12,000 worth of Sainsbury's own-label ‘Irish Cream Liqueur' - stolen from a lorry between Evesham and Tewkesbury - may be offered for sale across wide parts of the West Midlands.
Officers have today issued a picture of bottles from the same articulated, curtain-sided Scania R470 lorry, which was targeted at Beckford between 0100 and 0220 hours on 15th December, while the driver was sleeping.
The batch number is LO8344 and the Bar-code 01409451.
"Although there is nothing to directly link this incident to previous similar thefts, goods taken in the past have been offered for sale at a number of independent supermarkets across the West Midlands," said Det. Con. Al Mulcaster of South Worcestershire Police.
"If anyone is offered a Sainsbury own-label ‘Irish Liqueur' from anywhere other than the company's own premises, they should not buy it, but contact police at the earliest opportunity,"
Officers can be contacted on 0300 333 3000, quoting 39S/151208.
Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
