Police discovered a 30-plant cannabis factory after executing a warrant at a farm in Thornton.

Operations support officers, acting on community intelligence, swooped on the farm in Fleetwood Road South at 11am on Thursday 22 July.

The cannabis factory was discovered in a concealed room in the eaves of a brick barn.

Officers also discovered a foil wrap containing white powder, a syringe of brown liquid and a bag of blue pills in the bathroom.

Police discovered a 39-plant cannabis factory after searching a house in Thornton

Officers had attended an address in John Street, Thornton, yesterday (Tuesday June 8) in order to make an arrest.

After carrying out a search of the property, the cannabis plants, along with various items of cultivation equipment, were found in the loft.

Police in Blyth have recovered 83 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of more than £43,000.

Acting on information received, they carried out a search warrant at a house in Barnard Street, Blyth, on Wednesday morning, June 2, and found the cannabis farm.

Enquiries are currently being carried out to trace the tenant of the house.

Police executed a drugs warrant at an address in Mill Lane, Layham on the morning of Monday 24th May.

Ten cannabis plants, cannabis leaf and hydroponic equipment were seized and a 65-year-old man from the Hadleigh area was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, he was given a caution for this offence.
