Police Appeals

The Missing List welcomes your support

The Missing List is a unique three tier approach to crime and loss.

  • support the police by aggregating and amplifying information appeals
  • provide the general public and business community a platform on which to post appeals
  • foster awareness of potential threats to life and property

The Missing List is a privately funded, not-for-profit organisation manned by unpaid volunteers. The website facility is offered on a free-to-use basis.

What this website does is as important as it is unique. But it is only scratching the surface of what could be achieved using the software and systems that have been developed.

We believe that we have proved that this system works and now we want enrich and expand our offering for the benefit of all.

  • continue as a free-to-use facility
  • increase the level of incident coverage
  • broaden the remit to statistical as well as incident specific information

To enable us to maintain and expand our operations donations are gratefully accepted.

A one off payment of £10.00 - the equivalent of an annual donation of 83p a month - could make all the difference - but, of course, feel free to be as generous as you feel this important work deserves.

You do not have to have a PayPal account to donate; the PayPal system accepts all major credit/debit cards.

Here's an example of what this unique facility can achieve

Dear Missing List

With regards to your appeal for missing registered sex ofender Dennis Bowskill, posted on 20th March 2010.

Bowskill was arrested by Dutch police in June, in Amsterdam, after a tip off from a Dutch citizen who had found Bowskill on your website.

Today, 17th August, Bowskill was extradited back to the UK and is to appear at Burnley Crown Court on 18th August where he will receive a lengthy custodial sentence.

I thought you might like to know that your site has made a difference and contributed to the removal of a dangerous sex offender.

Many thanks
