British Transport Police (BTP) investigators are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened and verbally abused whilst travelling on a train between London Victoria and Polegate.
Officers are looking to identify the man pictured in the CCTV images in connection with the incident, which occurred around 9.30pm on Friday 26 September.
PC Peter Cooke, the investigating officer, said:
"The victim was travelling on the 20:47 London Victoria to Eastbourne train service when four youths boarded the train at East Croydon Railway Station.
"The youths sat near the victim and one of them verbally abused and threatened him."
PC Cooke added:
"Everyone has the right to go about their activities without fear of abuse and I am urging anyone with any information that could help our investigation into this incident to come forward.
"We have spoken with witnesses and reviewed CCTV and we are also asking for help from any members of the public who may recognise the man pictured in the CCTV images to contact police."
