    Thirteen life buoys stolen from boating pond: Falkirk

    The orange coloured life buoys with a rope attached were taken some time between Saturday February 20 and Sunday March 7 from the perimeter of the boating pond in Callender Park

    A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said:

    "These life buoys are essential in case of an emergency.

  • Saltire flag stolen from flagpole: Tullibody

    A saltire flag was stolen from a flagpole in Tullibody and police are appealing for information.

    The 4ft by 3ft saltire was flying at full mast outside Ladywell Nursery in St Serfs Road and was taken some time between 1pm on Sunday February 28 and Tuesday March 2.

  • Girl of 17 assaulted by group of five: Lydney

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a girl was assaulted in Lydney on Monday March 1.

    The incident happened between 4.45pm and 5pm in Newerne Street.

    The victim, a 17-year-old girl from Lydney, got off a bus from Gloucester and walked to the public toilets at the rear of Caplins Café.

  • Appeal after ginger tom cat Jasper shot with pellets: Stroud

    Police in Stroud are appealing to local residents for information after a pet cat was shot with pellets in the Barrowfield Road area of the town.

    Jasper, a ginger tom cat, was injured at some time during the evening of Friday March 5 in open land at the back Barrowfield Road.

    It's thought that he was shot with two pellets.

    Man absconds from medical facility: Edmonton, N9

    Police are urgently appealing for information after a man absconded from a medical facility in Edmonton yesterday (Monday 8th March).

    Fida Mohammed Utmanzi [9.1.90 - aged 20] absconded from North London Clinic, Church Street, Edmonton at 19.23.

    Officers were notified by the hospital shortly after and enquiries to trace the man continue.

  • Woman hit in face with glass in pub: New Inn, Middleton

    At about 1am on Sunday 28 February 2010, the 21-year-old Middleton woman was in the New Inn, on Long Street, Middleton, when she went to help a woman who had been knocked to the floor in a minor disturbance.

    As she was helping her, a man hit her in the left side of the face with a glass and punched and kicked her, before leaving the pub.

  • Man in hospital following shooting in Horse and Jockey: Stockport

    Just after 9pm on Monday 8 March 2010, police were called to the Horse and Jockey pub on London Road, Stockport by the ambulance service.

    Officers arrived and found a 42-year-old man had been shot in the chest and left arm.

    A man dressed in a balaclava and dark clothes had gone into the pub brandishing a shotgun and fired the weapon at the victim.

  • McDonald's staff closing restaurant forced to re-open at knifepoint: Spalding

    This offence was committed between 2:00am and 2:30am today, Tuesday 9th March 2010 at McDonalds Restaurant, Holbeach Road, Spalding.  

    A 21-year-old member of staff was securing the restaurant when he was approached by two men wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.

    He was threatened with a knife and forced to unlock the premises.

    Police have released an artist impression of the man and an image of his T-Shirt in a bid to identify him.

    Officers from Newham Missing Persons Unit have issued an artist's impression of a man whose body was found in the River Lea, Stratford on 12 December 2009, as enquiries continue to establish his identity.

  • Robbers leave 73-year-old man unconscious with nose broken: Winstanley

    A pensioner was left lying unconscious with a broken nose by two robbers in Winstanley.

    The attack on the 73-year-old man took place shortly after 12am on Sunday 7 March 2010, as the victim was walking home from the Poacher public house along Cambrian Crescent.

    Two offenders approached the man and one of them asked him for a cigarette.

    Laptops stolen from Civic Hall: Uppermill

    Police have released an image of a man who stole two laptops in Oldham.

    At 7pm on Thursday 4 February 2010, the offender walked into the Uppermill Civic Hall, Lee Street, and casually searched the building.

    The offender was aware of the CCTV surveillance in the building and used his hood to hide his face as he walked around the ground and first floor.

    A man narrowly missed serious injury after a flammable liquid was thrown at him in Bolton.

    At 10pm on Saturday 20 February 2010, a man approached door staff outside Courtney's Bar on Bradshawgate, after being ejected from the club.

    He threw a container of flammable liquid that had been set on fire at a member of the door staff.

  • Young man dies after serious assault: Clogherhead, Co. Louth

    Gardai at Drogheda are investigating a serious assault which occurred outside a premises in the Harbour Road area of Clogherhead between 1.15am and 2.00am on the 7th of March, 2010.

    A 25 year old male was seriously injured in the incident and was brought to Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2.30pm today - 9th March 2010.

    Tennent's lager stolen from McColls, CCTV issued: Stairfoot

    Police want to speak to this man in connection with a theft which occurred at McColls, Doncaster Road, Stairfoot on 12 February at around 12.30pm.

    A man entered the store and stole eight cans of Tennent's lager.

    Woman sought following series of shoplifting offences, CCTV issued: Hoyland

    Police want to speak to this woman in connection with a series of shoplifting offences across the Hoyland area.

    Police believe she has been involved in at least three incidents with the latest being at Cross Keys Garage, Sheffield Road, Tankersley on 28 February at around 6.15pm.

    In this incident, items to the value of £50 were stolen.
